Tickets bought: ten $1 Super 7s
Day’s earnings: $11
Net Earnings: -$27
A new year, a new start! Today, playing the lottery was fun again. Yet again, I had every intention of buying one $10 ticket, but the store was out of them, so I bought ten $1 tickets instead, and I am glad I did.
On the Super 7s tickets, you get paid every time you scratch off a 7. The first ticket I scratched off revealed four 7s, all paying $1 apiece. After a few duds, I found another ticket that had seven 7s on it, which paid $17. So I won $21 today, though I invested $10, so my net winnings for the day is only $11.
You got to spend money to make money, though. At least that is what my dad always says. But it would have been much more satisfying to spend $1 and get the $17 ticket back.
Every fourth ticket won, which leads me to assume there is a pattern with the tickets. After I won, I scratched off four losers, which means there is a winner in the hopper at the store right now. I have a good mind to go back and get it, but I must adhere to the rules of this challenge: only $10 a day!
Patience, Daniel son. This whole thing may just wind up paying off after all.
